I'm settled back in Minneapolis and have sorted through some of my drawings from Iceland! I posted a ton over on my sketch blog, but I chose a few of my favorites to share here. It's crazy, because we saw and did so many things every single day, it's hard to remember even a fraction of them. I think my memories are biased to the things I chose to draw, so these sketches are strongly influencing my Icelandic tales. A more thorough depiction will be available soon on the Light Grey Art Lab blog, once Chris has sorted through and edited the photos. There are three podcasts, there, too, that were recorded every single day. Even then, when we were recording them in Iceland, it was hard to remember everything we did!
I had a good time visiting the cities of Iceland as well as the outstanding geological wonders. Reykjavik is really cool! It's very cute–bright colored buildings and narrow streets–and clean! I think it's playing heavily into my desire to visit Europe. Now that I've got a passport, I intend to use it!
If you're interested in seeing more of my watercolor sketches from the trip, I'm posting a bunch on my sketch blog this week!
